Shopping While Black

So, what do we do now?

Me? Victoria Secret will not receive my financial support at all. I want to know where in their policy it states that you can ask a customer to leave because they are the same race as some who was shoplifting. They were not in the store together. They were not friends or even associates.

If you have recently purchased merchandise that is unused and in new condition, return it!

If you are disgusted and an avid shopper of Victoria Secret, send emails and letters stating your feelings as well as your countless shopping trips, be them online or in store. Talk about the numbers such as, "In 2016, I spent X amount of dollars with your company and I will no longer purchase from you due to the actions of your staff and store manager at the Quintard Mall in Oxford, AL. To ask a customer to leave a public store during store hours without reason or explanation other than that they are the same race as someone who was caught shoplifting is absurd. I am disgusted and no longer a happy customer. I, as a former customer of VS, stand by the customers who were asked to leave."

I don't typically shop there, but I'm doing my part by exposing this disgraceful act here in my blog. I know of Nikki, but we're not well acquainted. Nonetheless, she's MY sister. When my sister cries, I cry. When she hurts, I hurt. It was happenstance that she was the one in the store and not my mom, or sister, or me.

I'm with you, Nikki, as well as the other black woman asked to leave.

I am taking a QUEEN stand.

I saw my pain in her tears.
