I Just Wanna Be Happy

I was riding in my car and Kirk Franklin's "I Just Wanna Be Happy" came on. I begin to hum to the beat and singing the lyrics... if I keep on doing the things that keep on bringing me pain there's no one else I can blame... wasted time but now I can see the biggest enemy it was me so I'm not happy... cry yourself to sleep... As these lyrics rang in my hear, the thought occurred... am I unhappy because of me? Am I not in a successful thriving relationship because of me? Am I constantly questioning my ability to be with someone because I have yet to be happy before I meet him....
Happy is defined as feeling or showing pleasure or contentment. Having a sense of confidence in or satisfaction with, satisfied with the quality of standard of, willing to do something, of an event or situation characterized by happiness.
So what makes you happy? What makes you have a great day? What allows you to feel that you shouldn't worry or fret? Some would say their children, their spouse, sexual interaction, but should it be any other answer besides something you could do for yourself?
I now realize that it's okay to find happiness in the things around you but you shouldn't' rely on that to be happy. People pass away, friendships end, relationships die, and memories fade, but if you are happy with you and equip yourself to be self-sufficient in your happiness, you will have an endless supply.
